FLIGHT Centre today reaffirmed its commitment to delivering travellers cheaper airfare prices.
The company takes its famous Lowest Airfares Guarantee seriously and will continue to invest in and promote its long-standing customer promise, which thousands of travellers use every year to secure cheaper flight deals.
In Australia alone, Flight Centre spends in the order of $5million per year honouring this guarantee and the associated “Fly Free” offer.
Flight Centre’s statement follows a decision in a Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) case that found a customer was not entitled to free flights in the particular circumstances.
Details on the case, which was brought more than six months ago, and a subsequent appeal featured in a News Limited online article yesterday (December 11).
Flight Centre does not agree with News Limited’s interpretation of the QCAT judgment and strongly believes that it has both a legal and moral obligation to honour the guarantee.
“The reality is that Flight Centre invests millions of dollars in this guarantee and will continue to offer travellers cheaper fares by beating competitors’ airfare quotes,” managing director Graham Turner said.
“Thousands of travellers use the guarantee every year and it has been in place for more than 20 years.”
