Flight Centre Loyalty Program Release

Travellers to Enjoy the Rewards as Flight Centre Limited Introduces Customer-Friendly Loyalty Program

Flight Centre Limited will deliver extra value-for-money to Australian holidaymakers by introducing one of the country’s largest travel reward programs.

The company today launched its new RewardPass, a customer-friendly program that will allow millions of travellers to earn one bonus travel point for every dollar spent at Flight Centre Limited’s retail stores or websites.

Rather than simply using the accumulated points to pay for airfares, customers will be able to redeem RewardPass points for any available international or domestic travel product sold by Flight Centre including:

  • airfares – Qantas, Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Rex, plus international carriers
  • accommodation
  • car hire
  • cruises
  • tours
  • train and coach travel
  • travel related taxes and
  • travel insurance

Flight Centre Limited Australian executive general manager Allisa Pollok said RewardPass would deliver exciting choices and greater value for money to customers.

“One of the challenges of traditional points redemption programs in the travel industry is that redemption has been restricted to the partner airline or hotel group,” she said.

“The RewardPass program allows customers to redeem on Flight Centre’s best available deals of the day, regardless of the airline, hotel group or tour company. This includes special offers and can genuinely save the customer a fortune.”

RewardPass will operate alongside existing credit card and frequent flyer programs to allow members to earn bonus points in multiple schemes via a single transaction with Flight Centre.

Members will also have access to exclusive offers and will now be able to use a combination of points (5000 point minimum redemption applies) and conventional methods to pay for their holidays.

“For example, if a deal comes up in the Boxing Day travel sales and you don’t have enough points accumulated, you can still take advantage of the deal by paying with a combination of at least 5000 points and the balance in either cash or credit card,” Mrs Pollok said.

Flight Centre Limited chief executive officer Shane Flynn said the program was earmarked for expansion into the company’s corporate travel businesses and international operations.

“This is our first major loyalty program and it offers exciting benefits and options for the Australian travelling public,” Mr Flynn said.

“It will enhance customer loyalty and encourage new clients to shop with Flight Centre because of the greater rewards, exclusive offers and extra value for money that our program will offer.”

More than 400,000 households on Flight Centre Limited’s customer database will receive full program details and a personal invitation to join the program tomorrow.

Customers who register will receive an exclusive offer booklet.

Flight Centre Limited expects the program to make a considerable long-term contribution to sales and profit and will make an initial $1million investment in its establishment.

RewardPass points will be on offer at Flight Centre, Student Flights, Escape Travel, Travel Associates and Overseas Working Holidays shops in Australia.

Points can also be earned on all online transactions on the flightcentre.com.au, escapetravel.com.au,  studentflights.com.au, quickbeds.com.au and travelthere.com.au websites, making RewardPass a true “clicks and mortar” program.

Customers can register in store or online from tomorrow.
