FLIGHT Centre Limited (FLT) is flying high after winning major leisure, corporate and wholesale travel awards at this year’s National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA).
Flight Centre brand, FCm, Corporate Traveller and Infinity all claimed top honours as FLT enjoyed its most successful night in the awards’ history.
In addition to the four group-wide awards, Sophie Fitzgerald, from Flight Centre Mt Hawthorn in Western Australia, won one of the evening’s top individual prizes when she was crowned Best Travel Consultant – Retail.
“The qualification period was a significant 12 months for FLT, its people and its brands and it’s pleasing that our achievements have been recognised,” managing director Graham Turner said.
“Congratulations to Sophie for winning an individual award and to all the people who contributed to FLT winning the major leisure, corporate and wholesale categories.”
The awards cap a strong year for FLT globally, with the company recently announcing a record profit for the 2012 financial year.
When audited results are released on August 28, 2012, FLT expects to announce a pre-tax profit between $285million and $290million.
